Mark Bellgrove is Director of Research at the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health, and a Professor in Cognitive Neuroscience in the School of Psychological Sciences, at Monash University, where he leads a multidisciplinary team studying the biological basis of attention, cognitive control and decision making in both health and disorder (e.g., ADHD). His laboratory comprises state-of-the-art cognitive neuroscience suites alongside molecular facilities for functional genomics. Jan Buitelaar is a professor of psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry at the Radboudumc, and at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. He has a strong clinical and research interest in neuropsychiatric disorders as ADHD, autism and impulsivity and aggression related disorders, and is involved in pharmacological, cognitive, clinical, genetic, and neuroimaging studies in these disorders. His current active research is focused on translational studies aiming to identify new molecular targets for ADHD and autism through matching preclinical models to human imaging genetics studies. Dr. Renana Eitan is a psychiatrist and neuroscientist, the chair of the psychiatric division at the Tel Aviv Medical Center and the chair of the Israel Society of Biological Psychiatry (2021-2024). She is a researcher at The Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School (since 2016). Dr Eitan is one of the pioneers of deep brain stimulation research in psychiatry and of neuropsychiatry in Israel.

Stephen Faraone is Distinguished Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Psychiatry at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Shirley Hershko is an expert in learning disabilities. She is a researcher at the University of Southampton in the UK in the lab of Prof. Cortese and a lecturer at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. J.J. Sandra Kooij is a psychiatrist and professor on Adult ADHD at Amsterdam University Medical Center/VUmc, the Netherlands. Dr. Kennedy has training in three major areas: neuroscience, clinical psychiatry, and molecular genetics. His discoveries include 1) the role of the DRD4 gene in ADHD (LaHoste 1996); 2) dopamine system genes predicting risk for Tardive Dyskinesia, including VMAT2 (Zai C 2013) thus validating the FDA approval of valbenazine for TD treatment; 3) 5HTTLPR genotype predicts risk for antidepressant-induced mania (Mundo 2001); and 4) a panel of genes including MC4R, NDUFS1, and CNR1 that predict antipsychotic-induced weight gain (Tiwari 2016, US patent). More recently, Dr. Kennedy has led the pharmacogenomic testing of over 12,000 patients, creating an enormous database for discovery in this area. Dr James Kustow is a London-based Consultant Psychiatrist and specialist in adult ADHD, working in one of the very few London-based NHS adult ADHD services, where he had developed the award winning Lifeskills group programme. Dr Kustow also has a private practice in central London, and is the Medical Director of The Grove Practice, an internationally respected mental health training provider.

Dr Kustow is a recognised national and international speaker on Adult ADHD. He is a member of UKAAN’s Executive board (UKAAN is the main professional organisation for Adult ADHD in the UK) and he is also UKAAN’s Director of Education. Yehuda Pollak, Ph.D., is an associate professor at the Seymour Fox School of Education, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. I’m an Assoc. Professor in the department of occupational therapy, Faculty of welfare and health science, University of Haifa.

My translational research focus is on sensory, emotional, attentional and social dysregulations, in health and disease. I use basic science and applied animal models, both giving rise to investigations in human beings, in which neurophysiological manifestations are correlated with daily behaviours and function.

Attempting to untangle the mechanism of attentional and emotional dysregulations, I have been integrating diverse research paradigms, including behavioural, pharmacological, genetic, molecular, and neural plasticity. These efforts wrapped with multidisciplinary technological approach and have yielded extensive translational research, leading to my development of a physiological tool for non-invasive measurement of both emotional and attention dysregulations in humans, already implemented in several studies.

On the pathological end, we found a novel duo treatment, based on an attention-dysregulation postulation into PTSD symptomatology, that indeed showed the beneficial effects of Methylphenidate on PTSD animal model. We also extensively investigating the regulation processes in children and adults.

My Behavioural Neurobiology lab’s vision is to continue to develop state-of-the-art behavioural technologies combined with molecular and physiological tools, and to incorporate computational methods (e.g. machine learning) to further encompass the complexity of multifaceted research, aiming at improving the quality of life and social climate.

Luis A Rohde, MD, PhD is Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, Director of the Program for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder at the Hospital de Clinicas de Porto Alegre, and Vice-Coordinator of the National Institute of Developmental Psychiatry for Children and Adolescent, Brazil. Russell Schachar is a practicing child psychiatrist, Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, and Senior Scientist in the Research Institute at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada where he heads a cognitive neurosciences laboratory which focuses on psychiatric disorders of childhood and adolescence. • Vainstein is the current secretary of the Israeli Society of ADHD and the former treasurer of the Israel Neurological Association and currently one of his committee members, he is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, European Neurological Association, the World Federation of Neurology, World Federation of ADHD and the American Professional Society of ADHD and Related Disorders (APSARD).

Margaret D. Weiss, MD, PhD, FRCP(C), is currently the Director of Clinical Research in Child Psychiatry at Cambridge Health Alliance, Cambridge MA. She has specialized in diagnosis, treatment and research in ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders in all age groups.  She received her MD and Fellowship in Psychiatry from McGill University and her PhD in the History of Science from Harvard University.  Dr. Weiss has published over 125 peer-reviewed articles relating to these topics. Dr. Weiss is is the author of the Weiss Functional Impairment Rating Scale, a widely used measure translated into 22  languages.

Dr. Zubedat is a neurobiologist, his work is dedicated to understanding the typically developing brains in health and disease. The research area and expertise include both the neurodegenerative: Alzheimer’s disease, as well as the neurodevelopmental: attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
